BEFORE DURING AFTER
Different people benefit in different ways from the treatment and you do not have to prepare or think of any specific needs before you book a treatment.
If you are having questions or doubts before a treatment, you are always welcome to contact me to have a talk.
In your first treatment we will do a short de-brief where I will ask about your needs and expectations for the treatment. Then you will be asked to lay on the massage table in your underwear. You will be covered with a sheet at all times, except the area receiving treatment.
Sometimes there will be a conversation and I will ask about your life situation during the body treatment, other times we work together in silence and let the body do the talk.
Some experience a release of stored emotions while receiving the body therapy. This is perfectly normal and results in reduced stress and a state of peace. I will guide you verbally throughout the whole session and make sure you are comfortable. A treatment should never cross your boundaries.
You will benefit the most by working with me and explain how you feel during the treatment, so please do not hesitate to converse or ask any questions while receiving the treatment. There will also be time for any follow up questions and bodywork recommendations after the session.
Most people feel relaxed and experience a relief after long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. Some people will feel very tired while others experience increased energy. It can vary from treatment to treatment as it is a unique experience for the individual person.
You might feel more vulnerable and with the emotions closer to the surface since the effect from body therapy can last for few days after.
Occasionally you will feel some physical tenderness for a couple of days after a session as your muscles and soft tissue are adjusting to a new balance and releasing metabolic wastes. This is most common after your first treatments while the body is still adjusting.
Discomfort can be minimized by drinking plenty of water before and after your treatment. If you do body therapy on a regular basis, the symptoms will not be felt as strongly.
Since very deep states of relaxation may be achieved, many people prefer to schedule their session when they have time to relax afterwards
